BABYMETAL - Doki Doki ☆ Morning

What do you get when you mix pint-sized female rockers, a dash of deathcore, and a spoonful of kawaii? We’re not quite sure either, but we think it might be called “BABYMETAL”.

Sakura Gakuin is a Japanese pop idol group made up of 12 girls in their early teens. Several subgroups of Sakura Gakuin contributed songs to an album called “Sakura Gakuin 2010 Nendo ~message~“. One of these subgroups was BABYMETAL.

In the video for the song “Doki Doki ☆ Morning”, the cutesy girl-trio is backed by a crunching skele-costumed band for a bizarre mix of bubble-gum pop and dark metal stylings. No matter how strange this combo might sound, it seems to somehow work.
